SFBTA Scholarships
The Association encourages the study and mastery of SFBT by giving awards in the two categories of recognition and support, the latter being financial in nature.
RECOGNITION AWARDS
Steve de Shazer Memorial Award – for significant contributions to the field of SFBT over many years.
Insoo Kim Berg Memorial Award – for significant contributions to training in SFBT over the years.
Research Recognition Award – for significant contributions to research in SFBT over the years.
SUPPORT AWARDS
Student Research Awards - $2500 – for student research projects involving SFBT. Please see the Research Page for submission guidelines.
Training Bursary - $1250 – for a practitioner or agency manager showing promise in SFBT to attend a training event endorsed by SFBTA.
Conference Bursary - $1250 – for a practitioner or agency manager showing promise in SFBT who may not otherwise attend the annual conference without financial support.
Student Conference Bursaries - $1250 – for students developing an interest and showing promise in SFBT who may not otherwise attend the annual conference without financial support.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
For the Training, Conference and Student Conference Bursaries, please submit your proposal to the Scholarship Committee in care of lancetaylor@sfbta.org including the following:
- A cover letter providing a brief introduction to yourself, your current work or educational situation and your previous experience with SFBT
- Your current resume
- Your answer to this question: Suppose you were to receive this award, what would be different in the months and years to come that would show that it was useful, that you were right to apply and that SFBTA was right to have selected you.
The deadline for submission is July1, in the year of the conference.
