SFBTA Conference Committee

The Conference Committee brings the annual SFBTA conference to life by overseeing proposals, agenda planning, logistics, technology, registration, sponsorship, and more, all to create a welcoming and engaging experience for attendees.

Interested in joining? Any current SFBTA member with an interest in event planning, organization, or community building is welcome to apply!

Committee Description

The conference committee is newly formed each year to plan for and implement the annual SFBTA conference. The Conference Chair/Co-Chair is responsible for establishing the committee each year, with the help of the President of the Board and with approval of the Board. The committee works to facilitate the workshop proposal submission process, conference agenda and programme, advertising, technology, registration, sponsorship, research/survey needs, welcome preparations and any other needs. It is preferable but not necessary for a Conference Chair or Co-Chair to be a Board Member of the SFBTA. The Chair/Co-Chair reports to the Board on a regular basis. Submissions for interest in conference planning for the next conference planning year are always welcome.

The Committee's Mission and Goals

The charge of the Conference Committee is to organize the annual conference.

  • The corporation's Conference Policies shall be used for the direction of the conference.
  • The Conference Committee Chair is accountable to the Board for the conference and is authorized to sign contracts for the Board after receiving permission from the Board.
