March 2026

At the March 8, 2026 SFBTA Board Meeting, members focused on planning for the association’s 25th anniversary, including possible conference locations, communications updates, and archives projects. The board also discussed legacy training video policies, possible Google Workspace adoption, and confirmed upcoming Town Halls on April 11 and August 15.

February 2026

At the February 8, 2026 SFBTA Board Meeting, members shared updates and reviewed key priorities including website improvements, conference platform renewal, and member recognition. The board also discussed a proposed new mission statement, branding ideas, and committee updates related to membership, finance, professional development, archives, and outreach. Ongoing efforts to strengthen communications and prepare for upcoming events were also highlighted.

January 2026

At the January Board Meeting, members shared personal goals for 2026 while discussing key priorities for the year ahead, including board and committee engagement, member communications, and outreach. The board also reviewed membership value, recognized conference planners, approved the renewal of the conference website subscription, and reflected on ways to build on last year’s successful conference. Support for the 2026 Research Award and future mission and vision planning were also highlighted.

June 2025

At the board meeting on June 22, 2025, update was provided on the excellent work being done by website development contractor. All content from old website has been transferred to new site and new content is being developed to provide more description on SFBTA committees, past information about conferences, other SF organizations, and publications by members. 2026 Conference site location has been proposed, discussions in progress, trainer for August town hall and training being sought. Registrations are open for conference. Updated mission, vision, and 5-year “preferred future” to be proposed to present to Members Meeting in November 2025. 

May 2025

Previous minutes approved, decision made to hire website developer and designer as a contractor to assist with website development and migration from Wild Apricot platform to ZohoSites. Conference team was able to gain “Foreign Convention in Canada” status with Revenue Canada so no taxes will be charged on top of registrations. Payment portals have been set up through Wise, Paypal, and Zelle. Training and Town Hall session in planning stages for August 16, 2025. 2026 Conference sites proposed and discussed. Fundraising ideas discussed for association. 

April 2025

At the April 27, 2025 SFBTA Board Meeting, the board discussed several ongoing and new initiatives. Updates included progress on the upcoming newsletter, platform migration challenges with Zoho, plans to upload actor-led training videos by June 1st, and conference registration going live on May 1st. The recent Town Hall was well-received with international participation and positive feedback; planning is underway for the next one on August 16th, with a call for presenters and topic nominations. The board is working on revising the SFBT treatment manual to clarify core concepts and enhance fidelity. The board also proposed forming a new Professional Development/Mentoring committee. 

March 2025

At the March 9, 2025 SFBTA board meeting, the board continued to discuss the videos. We will move forward with selling videos made by actors and will further consult on the videos with real clients. The Townhall will be April 26, 2025, speaker to be determined. Plans for the 2025 SFBTA conference in Toronto continue and should be a very exciting event! The website is up and running for the conference at this time. 

February 2025

At the February 16, 2025 board meeting, the bylaws approved at the November 2024 member’s meeting were officially approved and signed by the board via Docusign. The 2025 Conference planning was ongoing with volunteer meetings every 4-6 weeks. The town hall and training was scheduled for April 26th, a trainer is still being sought. The current website managing software, Wild Apricot is expensive and not meeting all our needs. Other options are being considered. Research Award of $1500 was approved by the board for 2025. 

January 2025

At the January 26, 2025 inaugural board meeting of the year, a vote of thanks was offered to the Planning committee of the 2024 Conference, especially Marcella Stark the conference chair, and Joel Simon, the program chair. Shaema and Johnny were in their final year of their board terms and were not planning to stand for another term, thus at least 2 positions will need to be filled at the November member meeting. Vicky Essebag was elected to President-Elect position by full consensus of the board. Shaema was reconfirmed as President, Dawn as Treasurer, and Marsha as Secretary. Board meetings will be the second Sunday of each month from 430pm ET unless otherwise agreed. Conference program format and finances were discussed. Two town halls were planned for the year at 4 month intervals.
