SFBTA Finance Committee

The Finance Committee supports the financial health of SFBTA by monitoring income and expenses, preparing annual reports, and exploring ways to reduce costs and generate revenue in alignment with the association’s goals.

The Committee's Mission and Goals

The mission and goals of the SFBTA Finance Committee are to:

  • Monitor and report income and expenditures, including budgetary implications
  • Prepare a basic annual financial report addressing the past as well as the upcoming budget for the board to review, approve and implement and to present at the annual member meeting. 
  • Consider ways for the board to save money by reviewing expenditures
  • Consider ways for the board to make money by brainstorming fundraising and revenue-generating activities in line with the goals of the SFBTA

Terms of Committee

Committee Members can join the finance committee for 1 year terms, and renew one year at a time. If they are not renewing for another term, they should let the board chair know 1 month in advance of departure. Depending on the availability of the committee members, they may meet online for a meeting once a month or as needed, or communicate digitally through email. Bank account information, passwords, and other financial details deemed appropriate by the Treasurer are confidential to the Treasurer and President and are not needed by committee members  for this committee’s work.
